Prepare a clear signature image
Follow the application’s instructions for ink colour and background. Photograph or scan the signature straight on, with even lighting and no shadow across the ink. Trim excessive empty surroundings in your device’s editor while leaving a small margin around every stroke.
Use the original image whenever possible. Enlarging a tiny or blurry signature changes its pixel count but cannot recreate detail that is missing from the source.
Resize a signature in four steps
- Select your signature. The tool accepts JPG, PNG and WebP and creates a JPG download.
- Copy the file-size requirements. Enter the form’s maximum KB and its minimum, if there is one. There is no single size that works for every form.
- Enter the required pixels. Supply both width and height. For example, if your form says 140 × 60 pixels, enter Width 140 and Height 60. These are example values, not an official requirement.
- Inspect the preview. Select Resize & compress, check that no ink is cut off, then download. Review the JPG at its actual size before uploading it to the form.
White padding or crop to fill?
Keep whole image preserves the original proportions and fits the entire image inside your chosen dimensions. White padding fills any remaining space. It is a useful starting point for signatures because it keeps all of the ink in frame.
Crop to fill fills the requested rectangle without padding. When the source has a different shape, parts of the edges are removed. Use the horizontal and vertical crop controls, resize again, and inspect the result to avoid losing the start or end of your signature.
Why can a signature be below the minimum KB?
A signature on a plain background contains relatively little image detail, so a small JPG can be well below a portal’s minimum. If the best-quality result is still too small, the tool reports it. It does not add fake padding bytes. Try a clearer, larger source; increase output dimensions only if the portal allows them.
Before submitting your signature
- Compare the downloaded file’s KB and pixels with the current form instructions.
- Check the required colour, background and format separately.
- Make sure every stroke is readable and no edge has been cropped.
- Keep your original image so you can make another version if needed.
